AWA international mahjong for novices happens at the AWA function room each week on a Thursday afternoon. Registration is for members only.
MAHJONG TRAINING
Alternate weeks. Training happens on alternate weeks. Once completed we strongly recommend you then sign up for novice mahjong to practice what you have learned. training includes material and tuition from our mahjong volunteers and costs $40.
NOVICE MAHJONG
Alternate weeks. The novice game is suitable for anyone who has just been through training with AWA, or who has basic knowledge but needs to brush up a bit before playing with more confident players. It happens at the same time as mahjong lessons, so the trainer is on hand to answer questions. registration is free.
MAHJONG
Alternate weeks. The 'regular' game is suitable for anyone who already knows the rudiments of the game (please check out our novice games on alternate weeks if you want to refresh your skills before diving in, or our training sessions if you have never played before). Registration is free.
Since there are limited spaces, we ask that you please refrain from canceling unless it is an emergency. If spaces are filled, we do encourage everyone to sign up on the waiting list, as we may be able to add an extra table.
