When does my AWA membership expire?
All AWA memberships expire 12 months from the date you join.

Do I need to be an American to be a member?
We welcome all women, from all walks of life and all nationalities.  We currently represent over 40 countries around the world!

I have time to volunteer. What opportunities does AWA offer me?
AWA is a volunteer organization, so there are many opportunities to help out. Check out Volunteering with AWA for current openings. We also partner with Featured Organizations each year to provide volunteer opportunities for our members.

What is the best way to get involved with AWA and to start meeting people?
There is no right or wrong way! Check out the Calendar, decide what you'd like to do, and then register online or contact the relevant activity coordinator (who will be listed on the activity webpage). You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll start filling your days!

How do I sign in to my account?
When you register for your membership, you automatically receive an AWA online account. With it you can:
  • sign up for events and activities
  • see the list of events and activities you have registered for
  • view your profile and update your contact information, such as your address and email, as well as change your password
To sign in:
  1. Click the Login button at the top of the screen.
  2. Your user name is the email address you registered with us.
  3. Your password is was created during the registration process. If you can’t remember your password, please email office@awasingapore.org.

Events & Activities
Where can I find a list of upcoming events and activities?
You can register for most activities on the website via the calendar, or by going to the individual activity page - for example, the Local Tours page lists all the upcoming tours. The Bridge page lists all upcoming Bridge events and so on. If there is a non-website registration method, this will be made clear on the individual activity page.

How do I sign up for events and activities?
To sign up for events:
  1. Log into your account.
  2. Click the Calendar menu option.
  3. Scroll down to the event you are interested in.
  4. Click Add to Cart. You will receive a message that says the event has been added to your cart.
Note: If, instead of the Add To Cart button, you see the Waitlist button, this means the event is full, but we are taking names for a waiting list. If you wish to be on the waiting list, choose this option.
  1. Click Back to Events List if you wish to sign up for other events
  2. When you are ready to sign up for your chosen events, click View Cart to check out.
  3. At the next screen, you have the option to pay for additional guests you would like to bring (a family member, out of town guest, a guest living in Singapore, or an AWA member).
  4. When you are ready to continue, click Complete Checkout. You will be taken to a PayPal screen to pay for the event(s).
  5. If you do not have a PayPal account, simply click Pay with Credit or Debit Card and follow the instructions.
Please note: Until you have completed your payment, you are not registered for the event in question.

What do I do if I experience an error message when paying via the website?
Unfortunately, as the website payment function is handled by PayPal, we have no control over that part of the process. We are, therefore, not able to fix these issues for you directly. Here are some common issues you may experience with PayPal, and how to fix them:
  • Your credit card is associated with a specific PayPal account, and you're trying to use it to pay without logging in to that account. (Fix: Login to your PayPal account, or use a different card.)
  • Your AWA registered email is associated with a specific PayPal account, and you're trying to pay without logging in to that account. (Fix: Login to your PayPal account.)
  • Your card was associated with a PayPal account that has since been closed. (Fix: Use a different card, or re-open your PayPal account.)
  • You've linked the card to a PayPal account, but have not yet confirmed it. (Fix: Confirm your PayPal account.)
If the above fixes are not successful, you can contact PayPal's customer service for help.

Is there another way to pay?
You can call the office at 6734-4895 with your credit card number, or stop by to pay by cash, check, or credit card

Are AWA event costs quoted in US dollars or Singapore dollars?
All AWA event costs are quoted and processed in Singapore dollars (SGD).

How do I know if I have successfully registered?
You will receive an email confirmation.

If you do not receive your confirmation email, you have not been registered for the event. Please call or email the office at 6374-4895 or office@awasingapore.org to resolve the issue.

Do I need to have a physical ticket to attend an event?
We do not issue tickets for any of our events. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email. The event leader will have a list of registrants on the day of the event, and when you arrive, you will be checked off the list.

How can I see a list of events that I have signed up for?
To view the events you have registered for, click the Membership menu, then choose My Events.

I am living in Singapore, but I’m not an AWA member. Can I attend one of your events?
Absolutely! You are welcome to attend a maximum of (2) AWA events or activities as a non-AWA member to find out more about what we do. If you wish to participate in further events or activities after that, we will ask you to become a member. Call 6734-4895 or visit the office to register.

My parents/friends are in town. Can I bring them to an AWA event?
Absolutely! We welcome out of town guests at AWA events. Please register all guests in the same way as you register yourself for our events. Out of town guests and family members pay the same rate as AWA members to attend events.

  • Unless otherwise stated, events are open only to those age 18 and above.
  • A guest can attend an AWA event twice (in total, not per year) before we ask them to join as a member. So, please encourage your non-AWA friends to give us a try!
How far in advance should I register for an event?
Our events often sell out, so you should always register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Early registration also helps our event planners with the final planning of their event.

New events appear on our website on the first of each month.

How does the waitlist work?
If you are unable to get on the tour or event you want because it is full, please add yourself to the waitlist, if that option is available.

If a space opens up, the event chair will contact you. If they are unable to reach you, they will offer the space to the next person on the list.

I registered for an event, but I can’t attend. Can I cancel and get a refund?
  • If the event is marked non-refundable, then no refund can be given.
  • All other AWA event fees include a $5.00 non-refundable admin charge. This cannot be returned under any circumstances.
  • If an event is not marked as non-refundable, you may cancel your attendance by emailing office@awasingapore.org on or before 7 working days prior to the event.
  • If you paid online, we will refund you via PayPal. If you paid by any other method you will be asked for your preferred refund method, cash or check.
  • You may transfer your attendance to another AWA member or to another identical event (e.g. Mahjong game to Mahjong game) no less than 7 working days prior to the event, by emailing office@awasingapore.org with the new attendee’s name.
  • Cancellations received within 7 working days of the event will not be refunded.
