Kilometres of Friendship and FunSprinting to join my fellow AWA runners at the Botanic Gardens, I was eager to reconnect with friends after a summer hiatus from Singapore. Our weekly Tuesday runs are a cherished ritual, and the post-holiday reunion was long overdue. We exchanged hugs and soon were off for our run through the gardens. By the end, sweat was streaming down our legs and arms. We gradually cooled down and then walked over to Cluny Court for coffee.
Running is often reduced to a grueling physical activity, but it offers so much more. This issue's theme, "More Than Meets the Eye," resonates deeply with runners. When you push yourself to take on a challenging run, you're forced out of your comfort zone – a transformative experience that builds resilience, discipline, and determination. These qualities help you face life’schallenges with greater confidence and poise.
Races push you to another level. The AWA running group has an exciting lineup of local and international races in the coming months. With races in Perth, London, Japan, and New York City to Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, we have an exciting calendar ahead alongside our weekly Botanic Gardens runs.
